A.Jensen Pena Fly Reels.
The Pena fly reel, is made to meet the demands of today’s fly fishers. We wanted to make a light and tuff reel with a closed brake and in a modern and functional design. The outcome was the Pena reel.
The reel is CNC cut from High Grade 6061 Aircraft Aluminum. The sheer strength of this pretty expensive material ensures high stability, which is one of the most important issues, especially when you at the same time make a very light reel.
The brake is a closed disc system. It runs smoothly, so it is perfect when fishing with thin leaders. Yet it still has plenty of strength for the day a trophy trout, yellow fish or maybe barbell is attached in the other end.
The spool is “V” cut to make place for extra backing if needed.
The reel has an UL arbor design, which again help when using thin leaders, and then it is a joy to have, when you need to reel in loose line quickly…..
The reel has a “steep angle” handle, that makes it much easier to grip.
The surface is very tuff, so it can be used in saltwater if that is desired!
The reel foot is shaped so it doesn’t harm the leader if you pull it around the reel foot during transport from one fishing spot to another. A normal reel foot will give the leader a kink in the line, which will affect the presentation of especially dry flies – with the Pena reel foot, this has been eliminated.
This is a perfect reel for the dedicated dry fly/nymph fisherman or if you target stocked rainbows……
